Lay guide

Marks which are used in sheet printing to align the printed sheet precisely and true to register. For this purposes the printed sheets are placed against the marks with one longer side (mostly front lay mark) and one short side (mostly side lay mark). This lay angle in print must be observed also in finishing, in order to ensure a processing true to register. (see also "Register")
