The printed sheet (1) is positioned against the backgauge (4) and the side gauge (5) with its gripper edge (3) and the edge carrying the side lay mark (2) . The first two cuts are made opposite these edges.

The alignment for straightening the material in the jogger and the high-speed cutter may be affected by:

  • Deformed stacks
    • Poor stacking of printed sheets on the pallet
    • Baggy middle or wavy edges of pile owing to climatic variations.
  • Electrostatic charging of the material to be cut.

Temperature and humidity must be checked and controlled both in the room and the pile in order to avoid any production failures and problems with the register of any finishing machine.
