6. Job-oriented quality assurance

Test cut

It is not easy to predict how a cutting process will develop. Quite often, the operator knows nothing about the composition of the paper being cut.

Before carrying out sophisticated cutting jobs you should always make a test cut in the following way:

  • Trim a high ream in the area of the edge strip. Then compare the upper and lower sheets of the ream.
  • When a cutting test mark is printed, the operator can assess the cutting sequence on the basis of the bled line in the trimmed section.

The initial cut of the inclined line moves in the ream when there are deviations from the vertical line. There is an overcut.

When a check shows that there is an excessive deviation from the nominal value for this specific job, the operator can try to make corrections.
