Hydraulic clamping

When the cut is released a hydraulic oil exerts a certain pressure on a piston through a pump in a cylinder. The pressure level is preset by a valve which is controlled via the clamping force adjustment. The piston motion is transferred to two drawbars which pull the clamp down onto the material being cut. After the cut has been performed, the clamp is returned by means of a tension spring.
