In order to leave enough space for the gripper margin and the trim, the DIN size formats are assigned to untrimmed sizes which are approx. 5 % larger than the relevant end sizes.

The print sheet formats are essentially determined by the offset press formats: The indicated formats may differ from one manufacturer to the next. The table shows some commonly used formats, although you also may find other formats in practice.
