Location
Old Town hall (1529) in the centre of the historical old part of town. In 1352 Hofheim has received city rights.
Hofheim, the administrative centre of the Main-Taunus district, has a population of 40.000 people and is located right in the centre of the triangle Frankfurt / Mainz / Wiesbaden, in the heart of the dynamic economic area Rhein-Main.

Hofheim is today an important industrial location with globally acting companies, also for POLAR, the world leader for “Cutting, Die-Cutting, Banding”, who has its headquarters here, since its founding in 1906.
The square at the Untertor (city gate), with arcades and an open space for the weekly farmers market. The Büttelturm (Büttel Tower) is part of the original city fortification (after 1352)
Because of its excellent location at the edge of Taunus and the Main plain, Hofheim is also called the “City in the Green”. It is an ideal residential town for many, because of its excellent connections to regional and national road- and transportation systems.
It takes only minutes on a direct Autobahn connection to the Frankfurt Rhein-Main Airport, or with the suburban train system to the City of Frankfurt.
As the “City in the Green“, Hofheim has great recreational assets with a wide range of sport- and leisure facilities, e.g. Golf Course and the “Wellness Fun” at the Rhein-Main Thermal Spa.
Twin Cities of Hofheim:
Chinon (on the river Vienne), France, since 1967
Tiverton (on the river Exe), England, since 1980

The earliest recorded settlements within today’s municipal area of Hofheim dates back to the early Stone Age (75000 BC)
