POLAR exceeds sales targets at China-PRINT
At this central trade fair in Asia, which took place in Beijing, China from the 11th through the 15th of May, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG occupied all of Hall 2 at the exhibition. The central component of the Heidelberg Concept was a Prinect Center, which featured diverse Computer-to-Plate systems around which the various workflows were arranged. The design of the individual presentation areas ensured that there was plenty of space for the large number of visitors attending the fair.
POLAR was perfectly integrated into the workflows and showed an excellent selection of the following exhibits: the 115 high-speed cutter, an L-R-115-T cutting system and a DC11 LabelSystem for producing die-cut labels. In spite of this the success of selling more than 50 high-speed cutters and a similar number of peripheral units came as a real surprise. Managing Director Michael Neugart: "In the light of the Dollar's unfavorable rate of exchange we used somewhat more restraint in estimating our goals. But the live production and our persuasive arguments have convinced many potential customers of the advantages which our machines provide.“
We were the only cutting machine manufacturer that was able to present the customers with a complete cutting system. At the trade fair we processed jobs in live production. The interest shown in POLAR cutting systems was exceptionally high. More than 50% of the sales were walk-in orders, i. e. the customers spontaneously decided to buy a POLAR machine.
The fact that we sold almost 15 standard cutting systems confirms that even in China, where non-wage labor costs are comparatively low, process optimization and quality are gaining increasing importance.
